      If survivor stories give you comfort or lend inspiration, this collection of stories of cancer survivors will be a good choice. Each offers insights into the personalities and philosophies that the survivor believes helped him or her through the challenges of living with, and beyond, the disease. Jack Bauer and Susan Denaker provide performances that allow the intensity of the stories to come through without overplaying the emotions or overshadowing the underlying voice. This balance permits the listener to feel close to the survivors and informed by their stories but not overwhelmed by what happened to them.
